This group will meet at the church at 9:00 am and go to area parks and ballfields to distribute cold bottles of water and information about the church. Lunch will be provided at the conclusion of this event. Pastor is Paul Bryant

This group will be going door to door distributing information about the church and a new sermon series the pastor will be starting. This is a Home Mission church. Lunch will be provided following the distribution. This outreach will start at 10:00 am.

3. Liberty FWB Church

This location will be the site of some hard work. We will be clearing logs and limbs from a wooded area behind the church. We will be using equipment used with our DRT efforts to bring the limbs out of the wooded area, then we will need men wth chain saws to cut these into fire log lengths. The wood will then be stacked and sold for firewood to benefit the church. Lunch will be served after we have finished. We will start this project at 8:00 am. Pastor is Gwyn Pugh

Aaron Wilburn brings the house down with laughter… and he does it without four-letter words or making his audience feel uncomfortable.

A feature on the Gaither Homecoming Tour and videos, he has endeared himself to thousands of laughter-loving fans with his own down-home brand of humor, as he talks about his southern roots, his family, children and his faith. It’s common to see a grandfather laughing along with his teen-agers and children. As Aaron says, “There is no generation gap with laughter”.

Little would one expect that the same guy that brings people to tears with laughter also has written songs that have touched the lives of so many. His gift of songwriting has brought with it Dove Awards as well as Grammy nominations. In 2005 Aaron was honored by his home state as the Alabama Music Hall of Fame put an exhibit of his life and music on display in it’s honored halls in the company of such notables as gospel singer Jake Hess and the queen of gospel music, Vestal Goodman. They are surrounded by the likes of Tammy Wynette, Lionel Richie and Percy Sledge just to name a few.

In 2005 David Johnson of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame named Aaron Wilburn the official host/MC of the future Alabama Music Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

Whether he is on stage in an arena surrounded by 15,000 or in a banquet setting for a corporation or church, Aaron Wilburn is at home. If you tell him, “I loved your act”, he’ll probably tell you, “That’s no act, that’s who I am”. And to borrow his famous three words, “He’s funny!, bless his heart!”

The date for this year’s event will be Thursday August 2. Mailings should be arriving soon.

The Collista FWB Church was completely destroyed. Several church members as well as many in the area were affected by these storms. Master’s Men will be meeting in the area around March 12. More information will be available as plans are made. Volunteers as well as donations are needed. Bro. Joe Grizzell was the featured speaker and kept the attendees attention throughout the weekend.

Going off the theme of Staying in Love, Bro. Joe presented practical advise with a number of lesson objects to get his message across.

In addition to the conference sessions, the couples enjoyed a delicious banquet on Saturday night.

Chattanooga was a great venue with lots of restaurants and downtown attractions for the couples to enjoy during their free time.

Our next MEC Conference will be held at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Branson, MO March 23-25.

Everyone had a great time.

Due to a death in the church and other unforseen circumstances, the crowd was less than anticipated but the reception was great.

Another turn of events led to Bro. Tim York having to return home for a funeral in his church.

A change is the schedule allowed Bro. Tim to present two of his sessions before needing to leave. Bro. Cliff Donoho presented the next two Friday sessions. Bro. Ken Akers spoke twice on Saturday morning before Bro. Cliff closed out the meeting.

We want to thank Bro. Bruce Kimbrell and Bro. Steve Brogden for the hard work they put in to making this conference a success. We also want to thank all the men of the Temple FWB Church for providing two great meals plus great hospitality.

Our next CMI Conference will be April 20-21 at Camp Beaverfork near Conway, AR.

You can describe the 2012 Deep South in a word, but what word? Here is what I heard; wow, great, best, beautiful and the most common, tough! But for one father-son team, it was threepeat!

We couldn’t have ordered a better course or better weather. The Stonebridge was immaculate. The temperature started cool in the mornings but increased to the mid to upper seventies around noon then got to the mid-eighties by the afternoon. With the exception of fog to start the day, it was perfect for golf.

Sixty-four golfers came to Albany, GA for the fun and fellowship of the Master’s Men Deep South Golf Tournament. Coming from as far away as St. Louis, MO and Vero Beach, FL, the guys enjoyed three and for some four days of great golf.

While this course was well maintained and beautifully landscaped, it was not without its issues. Many of the golfers thought it was a day at the beach as they encountered lots of sand and water. Scores were a touch higher than we have seen in recent years, but still it was enjoyed by everyone.

When it was all said and done, the team of Jerry and Joseph Hall carried the first place trophy home for the third straight year. Finishing second, just one stroke back was the team of Tim Baumgarten and Don Dease. Finishing third in the Championship flight was Mike Gladson and Jerrod Pilgrim with Matt Pugh and Robert Hendrix finishing fourth. First flight top honors went to Ken Ford and Jack Hanley with Lyle Atkinson and Shawn Smothers taking second place. Second flight trophies went to a scorecard playoff with the team of Ryan Lewis and Paul Bryant taking the first place trophy from Paul’s father Randy Bryant and his partner Paul Smith.

In addition to great golf, the men enjoyed great food each night. A special thanks to the Albany First Free Will Baptist Church for allowing us the use of their facilities for our evening activities and GA State promotional Director William Smith for his assistance with this year’s event.

Former Master’s Men board member and participant in most if not all previous Deep South tournaments Jerry Atwell said this was the best course we’ve ever played on and one of the best he has ever been to, and that’s a lot.

We want to thank all the guys that participated in this year’s tournament. Thanks to all the groups and individuals that sponsored hole and donated to make this event a success. In addition to being fun and fellowship, it is also a fund raiser for Master’s Men.

Make plans to be in Albany next year as we will return to the Stonebridge Golf Course for the 2013 tournament. Due to Easter being the last Sunday of March, we will hold our tournament April 3-5. We hope to see everyone there.

With around thirty men in attendance the Californis CMI Conference was a great success.

The men were challenged and encouraged to be the kind of man, husband, father and Christian God wants them to be.

The topics were on target with the needs and challenges men face in the world today.

California Christian College served as hosts for this event and did a super job. Thanks to Bro. Wendall Walley and the staff that helped with the weekend.

Following the conference Bro. Cliff Donoho, Bro. Tim York and I were able to stay over and speak at six different churches in the area over the next few days.

We are looking forward to returning to CA in the near future for another Master’s Men project
