East Tennessee Fires

Many have been asking about helping out in the Gatlinburg, TN area following the fires there. I have been in contact with different ones in the area but went Monday and met with the director of the distribution center there. At this time they have been overwhelmed with donations. To the point he is shipping off tons of clothing. At this time they have what they need but asked if we could help with nonperishable food items after Christmas.

So here is the plan, any persons or individuals in the Nashville, TN area can collect items. NO BEANS! Bush’s beans has delivered a semi load and will provide more if necessary. Coffee, rice, pasta, canned vegetables, peanut butter.

Also needed are diapers of all sizes and baby wipes. If you are a church, let me know and I will arrange pick up. Individuals can drop off at The Donelson Fellowship anytime before Christmas.

They are also asking for monetary donations to provide for the needs that come up.We will be accepting donations and will take a check with us for the amount donated when we deliver the food.

For those outside the Tennessee area, if you would like to help, call and we can help with a plan. Of course you can send a monetary gift and that will be easiest.

I have also been in contact with another group in the area that will be working for the next several months assisting those affected by the fires. They are asking for volunteers currently to help unload shipments at their warehouse and will be looking for construction volunteers in the spring.
